The soybean was modified with the insertion of a gene encoding aryloxyalkanoate dioxygenase and phosphinothricin N-acetyltransferase to confer tolerance to the herbicides 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and glufosinate respectively. Further more a gene encoding a modified version of the EPSPS gene was inserted to confer tolerance to glyphosate.
