Côte d’Ivoire spans humid rainforest in the south and Guinea savanna in the north. Approximately 9% of land is arable, supporting cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, rice, maize, cassava, plantain and horticultural crops. Major agricultural imports include rice, wheat and dairy products, while exports include cocoa beans, cashew nuts, rubber, coffee and palm oil. No GM crops are commercially cultivated. GM food, feed and processing imports are regulated under the national biosafety framework.
